As a service to the community, the Police Department has set up its Nixle Information System. Nixle can reach individuals via text message on cellular telephones and/or through email services; users can customize for their preference. An alert can be sent to anyone signed up on the system in seconds concerning traffic accidents, road closures, amber or silver alerts, or any other significant events.
To sign up for this free service from the Police Department, you have several options (select one):
- Complete a simple sign up at this link: Nixle Sign Up Form,
- Use your smart phone and text your zip code to 888777 (cell phone carrier charges may apply)
- Download the free Nixle OneBridge application on your smart phone.
Once completed, you will receive a confirmation communication from Nixle. You will also have the option to receive Nixle communications from other areas. You simply need to enter any additional zip codes to receive that jurisdiction's Nixle information (if that jurisdiction is utilizing a Nixle system).
