Updated Information on NC 12 Road Closure Due to Natural Gas Leak

Around 2:30 p.m., today portions of NC 12 from Tanya Drive to First Street were closed as a safety precaution, due to a natural gas leak. The gas leak occurred when a construction crew began drilling and inadvertently struck a gas main. As of 6:30 p.m. the gas leak has been stopped. However, the road from Landing Drive to the Seven C's Condos will remain closed while the Piedmont Natural Gas crews continue to make necessary repairs.
