Governor Cooper Issues Additional COVID-19 Safety Measures

Governor Roy Cooper issued additional COVID-19 safety measures to tighten mask requirements and enforcement as cases continue to rise rapidly in North Carolina and across the country. Executive Order 180 goes into effect on Wednesday, November 25 and runs through Friday, December 11.

  • The Order tightens the existing statewide mask requirement – making it clear that everyone needs to wear a mask whenever they are with someone who is not from the same household. The Order also adds the mask requirement to several additional settings including any public indoor space even when maintaining 6 feet of distance; gyms even when exercising; all schools public and private; and all public or private transportation when travelling with people outside of the household.
  • The Order also requires large retail businesses with more than 15,000 square feet to have an employee stationed near entrances ensuring mask wearing and implementing occupancy limits for patrons who enter.

Can We Find You?

Reflective street address signs

How easily can emergency responders find your home? Can they find it instantly at night or during inclement weather?  If your house number is not displayed correctly where emergency responders can see it, valuable time can be lost when they are responding to a call for help.

Help our emergency responders locate your home quickly by having highly visible-reflective address markers on your property.

Aside from our emergency responders, delivery drivers also benefit from being able to easily locate your home. Don’t risk your Amazon package being sent back or your pizza arriving cold!

If you don’t have a reflective address marker, the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department Auxiliary can help! Complete and return this reflective address marker order form.

For any questions, please call the KDH Fire Department at 252-480-4060.
