Christmas Tree Collection

The Town of Kill Devil Hills will be collecting natural Christmas trees beginning on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Please remove all ornaments, tinsel, lights, and other non-organic items from your tree. Place your tree in the right of way adjacent to your property and ensure that it is away from all other objects. No artificial trees or other bulk trash items will be collected. Trees must be placed in the right of way no later than Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Please contact the Public Services office at 252-480-4080 for additional information about the Town’s annual Christmas tree collection.

New Year's Holiday Schedule

In observance of the New Year's holiday, the Town of Kill Devil Hills offices will be closed Friday, January 1, 2021. During the holiday weeks, residential collection of recyclables by Bay Disposal will be made on normal recyclable collection days; Mondays for the East Side and Tuesdays for the West Side.

2021 KDH Dog Licenses Available

If you live in Kill Devil Hills, annual dog licenses are required for each canine over 4 months old that you own, renewable in January. The cost of a KDH dog license is $5.00 per dog (if not spayed/neutered) or $2.50 per dog (if spayed/neutered). Board of Commissioners Adopts Yearly Meeting Schedule

Planning Board Adopts Yearly Meeting Schedule

Due to an abundance of generosity from our community members, KDH Staff were able to put together and deliver 149 gift bags to the nursing home residents and patients at Spring Arbor and Peak Resources in time for Christmas. EVERY resident currently in care at BOTH facilities received a gift bag FILLED with goodies!

Also, because of the many gracious contributions, we were able to support TWO animal shelters (one being an outdoor shelter in a neighboring rural community) by providing them with much-needed supplies. The homeless pets in KDH and in our neighboring community will have plenty to wag about thanks to such kindness.

Thank you to all of our community members who helped make this possible. You have made an impact on many lives this holiday season.
