North Carolina Extends Modified Stay At Home Order as Numbers Begin to Stabilize in an Effort to Continue to Slow the Spread

Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mandy Cohen announced January 27, 2021, that North Carolina’s Modified Stay At Home Order, requiring people to be at home from 10 pm – 5 am, will be extended. Face covering requirements and restrictions on individuals gathering in both indoor and outdoor settings are still in place. Executive Order No. 189 will be in effect through at least Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Click here to read the full press release from NC Governor Roy Cooper's office.

Seasonal Ocean Rescue 
Lifeguard Applications

The position of Seasonal Ocean Lifeguard is responsible for protection of the public on the oceanfront.  Watches over swimmers and beach areas during hours of operation, performs assistance to the public, and performs water rescues as required.  Applicants must be 16 years of age or older, pass a medical first responder course, and be able to report to different places using own transportation.  Must pass a pre-employment physical test (including running one mile in 8 minutes or less and swimming 500 meters in 10 minutes or less) and complete Ocean Rescue training sessions.  Pay range is $14.00 – $16.75 per hour.
