NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS


     NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, March 8, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., the Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners will hold public hearings to receive public comment, both written and oral, on the following recommended zoning amendments to the Kill Devil Hills Town Code:

A. §153.076(D) Off-Street Parking and Loading -  Modify Table of Parking                Requirements for Retail, Office and Related Uses

B. §153.002 Definition add definition for Accessory Dwelling Unit; add §153.315 Accessory Dwelling Units (new section); and §153.176 Commercial, §153.206 Light Industrial 2 and §153.226 Light Industrial 1- add Accessory Dwelling Unit as a Permitted Use

C. Reduce minimum lot size to 15,000 square feet for Duplex Dwelling Units in §153.160(B)(2) Residential High, 153.180(B)(2) Commercial, §153.210(B)(2) Light Industrial 2 and §153.230(B)(2) Light Industrial 1

Information on these recommended zoning amendments may be viewed on Kill Devil Hills’ website: https://www.kdhnc.com/893/March-8-2021-Board-of-Commissioners-Meet; or in the Town Clerk’s Office, 102 Town Hall Drive, Kill Devil Hills.  Arrangements can be made for personal inspection of the item materials by contacting the Town Clerk at 252-449-5300, or by emailing odell@kdhnc.com.
Written comments, which will be included with the record of the public hearings, may be submitted to the Town Clerk, P.O. Box 1719, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948, or by e-mail to: info@kdhnc.com. Comments must include your name and address and should be limited to three minutes when read aloud.  Additional options available for participating electronically in the public hearings will be included on the Town’s website and social media.
After 24 hours following these public hearings, the Board of Commissioners may take action on the items, with such action to include approval, disapproval, or tabling the items for further consideration.

TOWN OF KILL DEVIL HILLS EXTENSION OF STATE OF
EMERGENCY FOR COVID-19 PANDEMIC


North Carolina Governor's Executive Order #195 lifts the Modified Stay at Home Order and eases certain restrictions on businesses and gatherings that is effective at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 and will be in place until 5:00 p.m. on March 26, 2021.

a new and improved Emergency Alert and Notification Platform.  

Use of the current system will end on February 28, 2021.
