Scam alert warning

Scam Warning!

The Kill Devil Hills Police Department has received several calls about a phone scam targeting local area residents. The KDH Police Department's phone number is being spoofed, and actual officer's names are being used by the scammers. The scammers are telling people they have a warrant for skipping court and have to pay a fine over the phone. Please do not fall for these scams. The calls originate overseas and it is almost impossible to recover money that is lost to the scammers.
The Kill Devil Hills Police Department will never call you and demand money.
