Beach Driving Closure for Kill Devil Hills

The beach in Kill Devil Hills will be closed to driving beginning on Friday, April 15, 2022, at sunset and it will remain closed through the end of the Town’s beach driving season which was scheduled to end on April 30, 2022.

The closure is needed due to the safety concern of having limited mobility for both vehicles and beach-goers to enjoy the beach simultaneously. The limited mobility is a result of numerous areas of beach erosion.

We appreciate your understanding, as this closure is necessary to keep everyone safe. The Town is looking forward to our next beach driving season, which will begin on October 1, 2022.
