Exciting things are happening in Town!

If you’re passing through KDH in the next day or so you may notice activity going on at Mako Mike’s Beach Grille. It is set to be demolished on Monday, March 27th. Taking its place will be the new Kill Devil Hills Fire Station and Dare County EMS Station.

We’re looking forward to the new stations being constructed with improvements that will allow our first responders to continue providing critical lifesaving services to our residents and visitors.

Construction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2024. For more information, visit DareNC.gov/Projects.

Spring has sprung and we know you are excited to get back on the water. Maybe you are looking to take that new boat or kayak for a spin. Please be aware that the warmer temps over the next several days will be accompanied by gusty SW winds through Saturday. These winds could create hazardous conditions, especially for inexperienced mariners and small craft. You should always know the forecast before you head out, make a plan, and know your limits. Visit (and bookmark) weather.gov/mhx/marine for the latest forecast for local waterways.
