Fire Prevention Week 2024 – Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work For You!

This year’s campaign strives to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home.

Fire is fast! You could have less than 2 minutes to get out safely once the smoke alarm sounds. Working smoke alarms give you early warning so you can get outside quickly!

Key smoke alarm safety tips and guidelines

Install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area (like a hallway), and on each level (including the basement) of the home.
Test smoke alarms at least once a month by pushing the test button.
Replace all smoke alarms when they are 10 years old or stop responding when tested.

Dog's Day at the Splash Pad

🎉The Town is excited to announce we are opening the Splash Pad for our furry friends! 🥳🐕 All dogs, big and small, are welcome to enjoy the Splash Pad on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Bring your four-legged friend for one last day of water fun. 🐶💦💦 Please make sure to have a leash on your dog when walking to and from the Splash Pad. For the safety of all, we ask that only well-behaved dogs that are up to date on all vaccines come play. We can't wait to see you there! 🐾

The Splash Pad season may have ended, but we’ve got one last, paws-itively amazing surprise for all our dog-loving friends!

For one day only, we’re opening the gates just for our four-legged friends to enjoy the water, release some zoomies, and have an epic dog's day out! All dogs, big and small, are welcome to enjoy the Splash Pad on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 12:00 p.m.  – 1:00 p.m.

Please make sure to have a leash on your dog when walking to and from the Splash Pad. For the safety of all, we ask that only well-behaved dogs that are up to date on all vaccines come play. We can't wait to see you there!

While this is a FREE event, we ask you, from the bottom of our hearts, to please consider donating today to support the efforts of the Humane Society of the United States who have been working tirelessly in multiple locations across the Southeastern United States to help animals in need following the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene.
