Help Make Our Cake Walk a Sweet Success!

One of this year's Ice Cream Social highlights will be a cake walk!

All proceeds from the cake walk will go towards the Wallace H. McCown Scholarship. Each year, this scholarship is awarded to a qualifying Dare County high school senior to aid them in their college endeavors.

Here’s how you can help:

Help us invest in the future of our local youth! We’re looking for donations of any kind of dessert—cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, brownies, etc. Homemade or store-bought, every sweet treat helps us make this fundraiser a success!

Virtual Citizens Academy

The Kill Devil Hills Virtual Citizens Academy is a video series that was created by the Town to provide the public insight on the operations of local government. We’ll be releasing a new video weekly over the next few months. Each episode focuses on a different department or division, offering insight into the day-to-day operations that keep our Town running.

Fall Bulk Trash Collection

The Town of Kill Devil Hills Public Services Department will begin collection of APPROVED bulk trash items from IMPROVED properties within the Town of Kill Devil Hills on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. APPROVED items for collection should be placed in the street right-of-way not earlier than Tuesday, September 30, 2025, and not later than Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Join the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department at Fire Station 14 (1630 North Croatan Highway) on October 7, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. to meet members of the team and check out their equipment, as well as participate in fun activities for all ages!

Take a step back in time to the Outer Banks of Yesterday!

The Town of Kill Devil Hills Historic Landmarks Commission proudly presents its annual Dedication Ceremony and Homes Tour on Friday, October 10, 2025, and you are invited!

1:30 p.m. - The event begins at KDH Town Hall: A Dedication Ceremony for the newest Historic Landmarks will take place at KDH Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive, Kill Devil Hills. A video series highlighting the Town’s historically designated homes, which includes homeowner interviews and interior footage, will be shown. Light refreshments will be served as well.

2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. - The self-guided tour of Historic Designated Homes will take place. A Historic Landmark guide and list of homes participating in the tour can be picked up at 102 Town Hall Drive immediately following the Dedication Ceremony.
