Trash Attack!

Trash Attack! is a community clean-up event, which is held annually and typically in the Spring. During this event, volunteers head out across Town to "attack" the trash: beach, soundside, or anywhere in between, they help make our KDH Community a much cleaner, much brighter area!

Ice Cream Social

Kill Devil Hills’ neighbors love coming together to enjoy an evening of ice cream, food, and fellowship at the town’s annual Ice Cream Social event.

The KDH Fire Department, Fire Auxiliary staff, and the KDH Police Department can typically be found grilling up some delicious food and positively engaging with community members.

The local school’s bands usually set the tune for the evening.

This event is a prime example of what our town is all about – community.

Historic Landmarks Commission Open House

The Historic Landmarks Commission for the Town of Kill Devil Hills hosts an Open Homes Ceremony & Tour. This is usually done in October.

It is a self-guided tour that offers a sampling of the historically designated homes in KDH. Prior to the tour, a brief ceremony will be held at the KDH Town Hall.

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, which is in October, The Kill Devil Hills Fire Department hosts an open house event.

Santa at Town Hall

A very special visitor comes to Kill Devil Hills each December to meet the good children of the community before his “big night.” Santa visits the Town Hall and takes photos with the kids and listens to their Christmas wishes. There are goodie bags, cookies, festive tunes and sleigh rides that go around Aviation Park so all can admire our holiday displays.

There is typically a donation drive held in coordination with this event.
